Supertram services will finally resume around six weeks later than planned in part of Sheffield after re-railing work is completed. Services through Norfolk Park have been replaced by buses since July.
Work was due to be completed at the start of this month - but warm weather caused problems for installing the new rails.
Instead, trams on the closed section between Sheffield Station and Spring Lane will now return on Monday, November 11 - subject to the weather. Weekend work has also been completed at various other sites.
South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive said: “The remaining work can only be carried out in dry conditions, therefore there is a chance that a prolonged period of wet weather over the next few weeks could have a further impact on the completion date.”
The work is the first phase of a £32 million scheme to take place over the next few summers to replace most of the tracks on the network.
David Young, SYPTE deputy interim director general, said: “We would like to thank passengers for their patience.”
