Onyx Group, the fast growing technology company with a data centre in South Yorkshire, has got a £42 million boost from ISIS Equity Partners.

ISIS has taken a majority stake in Onyx for £27 million and will provide £15 million to fund strategic acquisitions, designed to increase Onyx’s geographical footprint.

Onyx was founded in 1994 and has grown into a leading provider of business continuity, cloud computing and data centre services for customers who include a wide range of mid-market and enterprise businesses.

The company acquired its South Yorkshire data centre, based at Manvers in Rotherham, in May.
