DARWIN Forest Country Park near Matlock has been voted the third best holiday park in the UK out of a record 392 entries sent to judges at VisitEngland.

The 47-acre park, which won bronze for excellence, hosts 15,000 holidaymakers a year in 120 Pinelodges, all built by Bakewell-based Pinelog which also owns the park.

The judging panel concluded: “This is a very high quality, well managed holiday park in a beautiful location that provides top quality standards and service levels.

“It is evident that the owners are constantly looking to improve the facilities and services provided and everything that they do is focused on the needs of their visitors.”

James Berresford, VisitEngland’s chief executive said: “In a year when we received a record of 392 applications, winning a Bronze Award is a considerable achievement.

“Darwin Forest is now ranked in the top three businesses in their category achieving one of the highest accolades which VisitEngland can bestow. I warmly congratulate them.”
