Doncaster Sheffield Airport is a business awaiting the arrival not of an aeroplane - but a road.
Bosses expect the FARRRS link road, which will create a fast route to the M18, to be transformational when it opens in a few years.
Until then the airport can hone its skills - and winning the customer service gong sponsored by Polypipe at the Doncaster Business Awards shows they haven’t been idle.
Steve Gill, managing director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “We are delighted to have won this award. Providing great customer service is a real team effort and involves every person in every role at the airport. We were delighted with the accolade given to us following the Which? survey earlier in 2014 and this local recognition really is the icing on the cake.”
The event at Doncaster Racecourse was organised by Doncaster Chamber, hosted by Louise Minchin of BBC Breakfast and attended by 850 people.
Phil Harris, CEO, Doncaster Chamber, said: “I would like to congratulate all of our winners, runners up and finalists on their achievements. The quality of entries this year has been incredible, our judges saw evidence of real business excellence here in Doncaster and it goes to show how much the town has to offer.”
