If the financial periods for the accounts are greater or less than 52 weeks, the figures have been annualised on a pro-rata basis.

The figures are compiled by Barber Harrison & Platt using the latest published financial information at the time of carrying out this survey filed at Companies House, and financial data provided by Bureau van Dijk’s Fame database at the time the survey was carried out.

Private company information can be incomplete. In preparing this table every reasonable effort has been made to ensure that no qualifying companies have been omitted.

All the tables are based on profit figures and individual town and area tables have been drawn up according to postal towns. This can mean that a company which falls within one local authority’s boundaries appears in the listing for another area.

In certain circumstances the compilers of the table have made exceptions to the qualification criteria and their decision is final.

Nominations for next year’s table are welcome at info@bhp.co.uk
