Business is hotting up for refrigeration and industrial cooling expert Dean Fairbourn after his Rotherham business, Specialist Cooling, got a boost from Tata Steel subsidiary UK Steel Enterprise.

Dean launched Specialist Cooling after spotting a gap in the market for a specialist stockist and wholesaler to supply the sector.

Initially he used his own savings to fund the Manvers business, but, once the company established itself and started doing well, Dean needed more funding to underpin opportunities for further expansion and that is where UK Steel Enterprise came in.

Regional manager Keith Williams said: “We were happy to provide the finance to help Dean achieve his growth plans.

“We have been helping finance company expansion in the region for more than 30 years. Despite the current economic climate we have funds available and are keen to invest. Specialist Cooling is one of many companies that we have funded in the last 12 months and we are continue to seek expanding businesses, buy-out or acquisition opportunities that require finance in South Yorkshire.”

Dean is now planning to expand his business in the North Midlands.

The company plans to take on an additional salesman to win even more customers. Clients include major bakeries and national supermarkets sourcing parts for their essential refrigeration, cooling and air conditioning systems as well as contractors.
