National building consultancy Monaghans is notching up a series of successes with John Lewis.
The Sheffield-based firm recently project-managed the development of new-format John Lewis stores in Devon and Kent.
Monaghans has also been asked to carry out a similar role for planned John Lewis department stores in Birmingham, Leeds and London, in addition to working on schemes in York and the new Terminal 2 due to be completed later this year at London’s Heathrow Airport.
The company, based at Furnival Road, says there has been a significant increase in demand for its services from the retail sector at home and abroad in the last 12 months, during which time it has completed successful programmes for the likes of Harrods, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Primark and TK Maxx.
Managing director Craig Hibbert said: “Our expertise means we are successfully delivering projects right across the retail spectrum from established brands to new embryonic retailers.”
Monaghans’ work for John Lewis included project- managing the development of a new store, designed to offer the full John Lewis range from a smaller floor area.
Thanks to Monaghans negotiating a novel collaborative working agreement with developer Land Securities, fitting out was able to begin before work on the shell was complete.
As a result, the store opened six months earlier than if traditional working practices had been followed.
Monaghans Sheffield-based regional director Tan Khan said “This is an exciting period for Monaghans and we are well positioned for further growth in the retail, residential and commercial sectors.”
