Entrepreneurs wanting to buy and sell companies in the Sheffield region are becoming more confident about their prospects, according to accountants and specialist business advisers Hawsons.
The Glossop Road firm says there has been a marked year-on-year increase in the number of deals it is being asked to handle.
“I think sellers who had been sitting tight because of depressed values caused by difficult economic times are now more optimistic that they can achieve a more favourable price and, correspondingly, buyers have a new confidence about the future,” says Hawsons partner Kevin Gregory.
Recent deals involving Hawsons include the management buy-out of Bakewell Veterinary Clinic, the acquisition of Evergreen Doors by Distinction Doors of Tankersley and the acquisition of HallRail of Tyne and Wear by Doncaster-based Trackwork.
