A man looks in the window of Cooplands on Pinstone Street in Sheffield – which closed with such haste pasties and sausages rolls were left on shelves .
A note on the window explained the Doncaster-based firm had been placed into administration. The collapse has led to the loss of 303 jobs.
Its head office and factory in Doncaster and 39 stores across the region will shut.
But stores on High Street and Fitzalan Square in Sheffield city centre will remain open after business restructuring specialist Resolve bought 41 branches and Cooplands’ Bap Van delivery business from Deloitte, saving more than 260 jobs.
Cooplands was established more than 80 years ago in 1932.
