VENUEMASTERS is expanding to the Republic of Ireland. The Sheffield-based consortium, set up to promote academic venues as locations for conferences and events, has secured Limerick University as its first venue in Eire.
VENUEMASTERS now promotes more than 85 venues and hopes to attract more clients from outside the UK.
Limerick University events manager, Lisa Gibbons, said: "We joined VENUEMASTERS as part of our marketing campaign in an effort to move forward as a unique Irish conference and events destination. As a member, we can network with other academic venues providing similar services.
"A key objective is to focus on conferences, summer schools and language groups using academic venues and accommodation for their events. VENUEMASTERS should allow us to connect with customers who specifically require the use of university facilities."
VENUEMASTERS has also added Bath University to its client list, which means it has recruited more institutions since April 2010 than in any similar period since it was established.
