City firm wins tracking award

They know if you’re speeding, braking hard or fiddling with your phone.

And when you stop they score your driving.

But the reward for inviting Big Brother into the back seat is cheaper insurance and safer driving.

Now the tracking technology developed by Shefield company The Floow has won an award from the insurance industry.

It won ‘Best Telematics-Based Project’ at the Digital Insurance and Technology Awards.

It comes after Direct Line Group spotted its potential earlier in the year and took a 15 per cent stake.

The company is expanding across Europe, North America and China

Co-founder Dr Sam Chapman said: “We are delighted to have been recognised by our peers in the industry for our bespoke telematics systems.
