Church job club returns to help residents find employment

Have your say

Barnsley residents can improve their job prospects with a free course being run by a local church.

Members of Hope House Church in Barnsley, who have been trained by UK charity Christians Against Poverty, are running the job club.

Manager Andrew Orchard, who will be leading the CAP Job Club sessions, said: “When it comes to job hunting, having the right tools and techniques up your sleeve can really improve your chances in finding work.

“We provide a personal service which gives people both practical and emotional support.”

Sessions cover practical topics such as identifying strengths, CV writing and interview techniques plus one-to-one guidance on IT issues such as email and using the internet.

The next course takes place in the Church Cafe, Blucher Street, Barnsley, from 11am on Wednesday, March 18.
