Current deals include a maximum single fare of £2 with a maximum £1.40 on some routes, £3.40 day tickets and £11 tickets for a week.

The bus operator said it plans to offer cheap fares into September after the offerled to increased passengers.

A First spokesman said: “More people are using our buses to watch Olympic events on local screens and then going to celebrate with drinks at a local pub or a trip to the local shops.

“Our aim is to grow numbers of people using buses.”
