THE Sheffield branch of homelessness charity Emmaus has been named one of the winners of the city council’s new Dignity in Care Awards.
The awards are presented to individuals or organisations that demonstrate outstanding practice in providing care with dignity and respect, or offer an excellent opportunity to recognise exceptional skills or innovative ways of working.
Emmaus Sheffield, which won the award for the best large organisation, is a community providing a home, support, training and work for homeless men and women aged 18 years and over.
Based in the historic Sipelia Works close to the city’s Canal Basin, it provides a working community with accommodation.
“Winning this award means so much to everybody involved,” said general manager Graham Bostock.
