Barber Harrison & Platt has been named one of the top 40 firms of charity auditors in the UK and is the only local independent firm of accountants to secure a place in the rankings, by Charity Finance magazine.
The Sheffield and Chesterfield-based firm was ranked 32nd – four places up from last year – and was given the top ranking for charity expertise by all of the clients who responded to the magazine.
Jane Marshall, head of the Charities and Not for Profit Team at BHP, said: “We pride ourselves on taking the time to get to know our clients so we can give them the best possible advice.
“We act for a large number of charities some of whom have been clients for many years and our experience of working with them has enabled us to pass on our expertise to new clients in the same field. This survey, and the feedback received, is proof that we understand the challenges facing the sector.”
BHP’s success comes as the firm merges with Leeds and Harrogate based Mitchells Group to create a £10 million turnover business.
