Software company boss Owen Gleadall has been installed as Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce’s new president.
Mr Gleadall has been running his own businesses in Barnsley for more than 30 years and is managing director of Merlin Software.
He has been involved with the Chamber movement for 18 years and has acted as a mentor for Sheffield Hallam University’s Enterprise Programme and the I Know I Can enterprise initiative in Barnsley.
Mr Gleadall is also chairman of Barnsley Academy’s governors, vice chairman of One Barnsley – the strategic partnership for development in Barnsley - and has been a magistrate for 26 years.
Tata Steel Speciality Steels managing director Mark Broxholme was elected vice president of the Chamber.
