Lawyers from Hlw Keeble Hawson have helped Sheffield-based gambling and restaurant group Napoleons secure a substantial reduction on the rent it pays for a casino in the heart of London.

Gareth Owen, partner in the Sheffield law firm’s property team, worked with property litigation expert Sarah Burton to gain the reduction.

Mr Owen said: “This has been a protracted and challenging case that flags up the need for landlords to be flexible with commercial rents in the current economic climate.

“It is thanks to all advisers working in partnership that we managed to settle this out of court and achieve a significant reduction for Napoleons on the rent on their well-known Leicester Square casino.”

Mark Allen, Group Director at Napoleons Casinos & Restaurants, said: “We are pleased to be able to continue to operate on our well established London site and thanks to the collaborative efforts of our advisers the new lease gives us continued stability.”
