The chief executive of Sheffield-based parcel carrier, Tuffnells Parcels Express, has been named North East chief executive of the Year by the British Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.

Lloyd Dunn joined Tuffnells in 2002, oversaw a management buyout in 2005 and has been instrumental in the company’s growth.

Mark Hammond, from Caird Capital, which has a 30 per cent stake in Tuffnells, said: “This award deservedly acknowledges the significant impact Lloyd has had on Tuffnells, through his leadership of the business and through his development of a strong and focused management team.”
