Pay and display parking charges will be extended by two hours on the Bawtry Market Hill public car park from Thursday, November 1.
Bawtry Town Council has decided to increase the charging time on the car park, which is managed by Excel Parking Services, from 8pm to 10pm.
Councillors feel that with a high number of licensed premises, some of which are open into the early hours, more use is being made of the town council-owned car parking facility.
Following a suggestion put to them by the management of The Crown Hotel, councillors have agreed that a tick-over tariff will be introduced. If a ticket for two hours is purchased at 7pm it would cover a period from 8am to 9am the next morning.
Excel is to install new signs and solar-powered ticket machines at no cost to the council. The parking charges will remain the same.
