Capita marks coming of age of O2 call centre deal

Capita Customer Management has marked the “coming of age” of a contract with mobile ‘phone group O2 with a celebration at its biggest site, in the Dearne Valley.

The relationship goes back to 1993, when the Capita subsidiary – then known as Ventura – began providing customer support services for Cellnet.

The operation went live with just 40 staff and now employs more than 5,000 people across five sites in Yorkshire, Scotland and North West England.

Earlier this year Capita and O2 signed a 10-year deal for Capita to run and manage O2’s customer service centres.
