A FURTHER call is being made for Sheffield households to sign up to a scheme through which they can save hundreds of pounds on their energy bills.
Residents have until April 8 to join the first phase of the Big Sheffield Switch bulk purchasing initiative, being organised by Sheffield Council.
Coun Jack Scott, the council’s cabinet member for environment, recycling and streetscene, said: “We know how much people are worried about rising energy costs.
“So we are delighted to launch ‘The Big Sheffield Switch’ that will help people in Sheffield to save hundreds of pounds a year.
“Families can save lots of money.
“One of the best things about this scheme is that the more people who get involved, the more we can save together. I hope everyone in Sheffield signs up and gets better deals on their energy bills.”
Under the scheme, energy suppliers will bid for householders’ custom by offering their cheapest tariff, and the best value providers will be chosen.
