Bus improvements for a Sheffield neighbourhood are set to be given the green light.
Planned changes have been recommended for approval by Sheffield Council at a meeting tomorrow, covering the Beauchief and Greenhill area.
The proposals include a new stop location on Bocking Lane and parking restrictions on Reney Road.
Transport chiefs say the work will ‘aim to ease congestion and reduce bus journey times’ and is good news for passengers after service reductions in the area.
Changes have been welcomed by Beauchief and Greenhill Liberal Democrat councillor Simon Clement-Jones, who said: “I’m delighted to finally see proposals which will improve our local services. We have seen problems increase at these hotspots, with heavy congestion on these residential roads and the worrying potential for dangerous accidents.”
A final decision on the changes is due to be made by Sheffield Council’s cabinet member for business, skills and development, Coun Leigh Bramall.
