A construction company that has increased turnover from £7m to £13m in the last two years is aiming for further growth with help from Enterprising Barnsley.

Barnsley-based Cidon works nationwide on projects ranging from residential property, hotels and car parks to industrial and renewable energy projects.

Enterprising Barnsley, the Barnsley Council-backed programme that helps local businesses with growth potential, has been working with Cidon’s management to help develop personnel and marketing functions.

Now, it is aiming to take full advantage of the recovering construction market after recruiting high level staff and investing in training.

Managing director Ciaran Donnelly said: “Cidon has been successfully delivering projects since 2000 and although our core business is the construction of concrete building and civil engineering structures, we believe there is an opportunity to deliver complete build packages in key sectors. Last year we invested £100,000 in HR and training to recruit and retain the best people in the industry.”
