Sheffield solicitors Taylor&Emmet have raised a glass to brewery entrepreneur Dave Wickett after advising on the link-up between his Kelham Island Brewery and Welbeck Abbey.

The law firm’s commercial property and corporate teams, headed by John Hawkins and Peter Crawford, respectively, advised on the lease for the brewery’s premises in the grounds of the Nottinghamshire estate and the arrangements for the venture between the brewery and the former abbey.

Dave Wickett said: “Launching this new venture has taken 18 months of planning, but John, Peter and their colleagues at Taylor&Emmet have been brilliant, helping me make sense of complicated legal documents.

John Hawkins said: “I have no doubt that David Wickett will ensure the microbrewery plays an important role in Welbeck Abbey’s future.”
