A sandwich bar in Doncaster’s Frenchgate Centre had to close this afternoon after water started pouring through the ceiling.
Shoppers watched as a squad of Frenchgate staff tried to mop up the water which was dripping from the top floor above the Trades and Labour Club.
Engineers workign on an elevated platform removed ceiling tiles to see where it was coming from.
Subway had to close its shutters becausae of water in the customer floor area but the club next door remained open and other businesses seemed unaffected.
The source of the leaking water was not immediately apparent and no-one from Frenchgate management was available to comment.
