THE firm behind plans to open an outdoor education centre on former Earth Centre site at Denaby are to outline their scheme to the public.

Kingswood, the new owners of the site for the failed Millennium Project, will hold a public exhibition at The Ivanhoe Centre, Gardens Lane, Conisbrough, this week.

The display, which will running on Friday and Saturday, is intended to provide details of the planned development.

A spokesman for Kingswood said: “The exhibition will provide an opportunity for local people to see the proposals for the new centre and talk with staff from Kingswood who will be able to provide further information and answer questions.”

Kingswood says a multi-million pound investment programme will create a flagship residential activity centre on the site which has been vacant since 2004.

Bosses at the firm describe the proposal as a natural continuation of the principles of education and environmental sustainable living, including preservation of the site’s parkland and infrastructure.

Kingswood plans to retain and refurbish existing buildings on the site as well as build new accommodation for pupil students and teachers. The centre will feature an indoor activity and sports hall.
