Businesses in the south of Sheffield are set for a boost when experts share their tips for survival.

Representatives from the Federation of Small Businesses, Nether Edge Farmers’ Market and the council’s market service have joined together for the special networking event.

Richard Wright, chief executive of Sheffield’s Chamber of Commerce, is also lined up to speak.

Advice on how to stay ahead in a tough financial climate will be on offer to business owners and entrepreneurs across the area.

The public meeting, organised by local councillors, will take place at Millhouses Methodist Church this Thursday at 6.30pm.

Coun Roger Davison, who represents Ecclesall, said: “As Liberal Democrat councillors we’re determined to support local businesses.

“We want to be setting an example to the rest of the council by listening to the business community and putting their needs first.

“I’m hoping to see lots of people at this event from businesses come for practical support and discussion about how we can help businesses in our local area.”
