A book-keeper who set up her own South Yorkshire business after being made redundant has seen the company named Book-keeping Practice of the Year.
Beverley Flanagan, from Rotherham, set up Flex Accounting after losing her job as financial controller with the Daily Mail Group.
Flex has bucked the recessionary trend and seen client numbers increase by 40 per cent over the last year.
Now, it has moved to larger premises at Bradmarsh Business Centre and set up a virtual office in London to cope with rising demand further south.
In addition to taking on and supporting the training of a young apprentice, Beverley Flanagan has also found time to work free of charge for local animal rescue charity, South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance which has dubbed Flex Accounting the ‘rescuer to the rescuers.’
