Bestobell Valves’ deal opens way to growth in the US

Bestobell Valves is aiming to increase sales to the United States after teaming up with W&O Supply.

Florida-based W&O is a global supplier of pipes, valves and other equipment to the marine and upstream oil and gas sector.

Mark Henley, managing director of Sheffield-based Bestobell’s parent company, President Engineering Group, said: “The distribution agreement will create fantastic opportunities for both W&O and Bestobell Valves as it utilises the common strengths of both companies.”

Bestobell makes cryogenic valves for applications involving Liquid Natural Gas (LNG), which is already popular in the European marine market and is growing in popularity as a green, clean marine fuel in the US.

Michael Hume, president and chief executive of W&O, said: “Partnering with Bestobell Valves will enable W&O to meet our customers’ needs for cryogenic valves for LNG fuel systems.

“The combined experience of our two companies in serving the needs of the marine and upstream oil and gas industries provides a high-quality solution to customers in the US and Canada.”

Bestobell Valves is a world-leader in manufacturing cryogenic valves for industrial gas applications and has 15 years’ experience in supplying to the LNG marine markets.

Its valves are widely used on LNG carriers, floating production, storage and offloading vessels and LNG fuel systems for ships. Bestobell has supplied cryogenic valves to a majority of the major shipyards building LNG Carriers.
