The “best of the best” were crowned at the City Region Business Awards.
A gala presentation evening at Magna in Rotherham honoured 13 companies and individuals judged to be the first among winners’ from the five biggest business awards in the region.
Hundreds of people attended the black tie event including heads of Chambers of Commerce, industry leaders and senior figures from headline sponsors Learning Unlimited, part of the Chesterfield Group.
Sir Nigel Knowles, chair of the Sheffield City Region and global ambassador for law firm DLA Piper was the guest speaker.
It was the fourth year of the awards, which pull together award winners from the Doncaster, Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham and East Midlands Chambers as well as the Derbyshire Times newspaper, based in Chesterfield.
The Star editor, Nancy Fielder, told guests: “As Editor of The Star in Sheffield, and associated titles, I would like to pass on my thanks to everyone who entered, and indeed were shortlisted.
“Also, thank you to the judges, who had the unenviable task of selecting winners from a pack of very strong contenders.
“More than anything, this should be a night where you say thank you to your teams. Without them, your businesses would not be what they are today.”
