Local Growth Minister Kris Hopkins has called on Yorkshire businesses, local authorities and people to seize the initiative and tell the Government what they need to bring wealth and growth to the region.
The West Yorkshire Conservative MP, who was appointed a Minister in the Department for Communities and Local Government in October, was speaking at the business launch of the new AMRC Training Centre at Catcliffe.
He told guests: “Don’t wait for Government to tell you what will make this region work even better.
“Speak to your Local Enterprise Partnership, be part of the local leadership and explore all of the opportunities there are to bring wealth to the region.”
Yorkshire politicians, business people and academics had to tell the world about the huge industrial resources and skills available across the region.
Mr Hopkins said he felt privileged to be at the AMRC Training Centre’s business launch and to see what was happening.
