One of Sheffield’s best-loved real ale pubs is in new hands.

The Grade II-listed Bath Hotel on Victoria Street, owned for 12 years by Brian Johnson, is now in Derbyshire’s Thornbridge Brewery fold on a 10-year lease. Recently voted best pub-operating micro brewery by The Publican, The Bath is Thornbridge’s 13th venue with sister company BrewKitchen.

Chief Operating Officer Simon Webster said: “The Bath is a heritage-listed CAMRA pub. We understand the affection people have for it and only minimal changes will be made.” Manager Edd Entwistle, formerly of the Greystones, will be introducing beers from around the UK and developing a food menu. For now, it’s hand-made soup and sandwiches.

Said Brian: “It’s time to spend more time with family. I know the pub is in great hands and I will be back to sample the beers.”
