A TEAM from Barnsley College has beaten off competition from four other schools to win the regional heat of a national business competition.
Teams taking part in the Business, Accounting and Skills Education (BASE) competition had to take on the role of chartered accountants, deciding on the next steps a fictional company should take, before presenting their ideas to a panel of business professionals.
The Barnsley team, comprising Jonathan Carr, Kelly Stracey, Josh Meynell, Liam Hawksworth, Jaime Charlesworth and Gemma Ainsworth, beat runners up from Aston Academy and teams from King Ecgberts, Longley Park and Chesterfield College.
