Barnsley-based clay and plastic pipe manufacturer Naylor Drainage has scooped two prestigious national business awards.

The firm walked away with gold twice at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards held in London at the end of April.

The company won the ‘Outstanding Export Award’, which recognises manufacturers that have developed and implemented a successful new export strategy.

In addition, Naylor was crowned ‘Winner of Winners’ on the night - a gong awarded to the most outstanding and inspiring company out of all the national winners.

Edward Naylor, chief executive at Naylor Drainage, said: “There are so many fantastic manufacturers in the UK - to not only win the Outstanding Export Award, but also be named Winner of Winners, is a massive compliment.

“We have worked really hard to develop innovative products and to enter new markets and this is a very welcome recognition of the efforts of our entire team; we are all delighted.”

Naylor Drainage was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics and was up against tough competition from a range of dynamic businesses, small and large from across the UK.

The judges were particularly won over by the company’s development of world class, highly-engineered technical drainage products and solutions, including Denlok jacking pipes and Thermachem chemical drainage. Industry experts were also pleaded with Naylor’s commitment and approach to boosting its exports have driven the company’s development into a 21st century globally oriented enterprise.
