A new £10.8 million construction centre is to be built at Barnsley College, offering courses in further and higher education, as well for young people aged 14 to 16.

The development will be at the college’s Honeywell campus and will include specialised workshops for brickwork, plastering, wall insulation, roofing, joinery, and painting and decorating.

A planning application will be submitted in January and work is planned to begin in the spring next year, with a Government grant paying for a third of the cost.
