Charlie Mullen and Alan Quinlen have applied to change the use of a shop in Gibraltar Street, in a row that has been given a fresh lick of paint by the owner.

Together they are known as the Bar Stewards and have been holding occasional pop-up events at the premises for some time, but want to make it into a permanent venue.

According to the plans, the pair want to turn the unit into a craft beer and real ale bottle shop with a tasting room.

The application says: “We will supply a large array of local and world beers in bottle and can form for sale to the public.

“We will also have a limited amount of cask and keg beers as well as a small selection of high end spirits and wines for in-shop consumption and take out. All goods will be of high quality and will be in keeping with other establishments in the area.”
