Although Nigel Little’s time is spent running the business today, he has been at the sharp end of game development.

A year before he founded Distinctive, Nigel had been lead programmer for one of Rotherham games developer Krisalis’s most successful games, Soccer Kid.

The platform game, originally released for the Commodore Amiga, involves rescuing the World Cup after it has been stolen and accidentally broken into five pieces by alien trophy hunters.

Soccer Kid secured such a following that it was re-released for Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance and Sony’s PlayStation a decade after its original release and you can even find a two hour video of someone playing through the entire Amiga version of the game at
