Three members of Sheffield solicitors Taylor&Emmet’s family law department have been promoted to associate in recognition of the skills and expertise they bring to the team.
Children expert, Pat Wotherspoon, has more than 30 years experience in family law and Joined Taylor&Emmet in 2008, while Lucy Hartley and Elizabeth Cassidy joined as trainees in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Pat Wotherspoon entered private practice in 1991, after spending 10 years working for local authorities across the north of England.
She represents councils, along with parents, children and other family members, in care proceedings, children disputes, contact or residence issues and adoption.
Lucy Hartley and Elizabeth Cassidy both secured roles within Taylor&Emmet’s matrimonial team after qualifying and have since become members of Resolution, the national organisation of family lawyers committed to finding non-confrontational solutions to family problems.
Lucy Hartley focuses on financial and property settlements and premarital, pre-civil or separation agreements, whilst Elizabeth Cassidy specialises in cases involving domestic abuse, property disputes and issues relating to children. She is also a qualified mediator.
