Passengers are invited to step back in time and enjoy the luxurious age of the train in a series of excursions from Sheffield.
Travel firm Orient-Express has announced its programme of railway trips for 2014, with a number of South Yorkshire departures for its Northern Belle train.
A Northern Belle spokeswoman said: “It reflects the style of England’s 1930s’ ‘Belle’ trains and the Pullman carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
“Travel through some of Britain’s most beautiful scenery while enjoying cuisine and fine wines using produce from the landscapes you pass through.”
Destinations include Edinburgh, London and the Lake District, as round trips to enjoy lunch or tea on board.
The Edinburgh excursion takes place on Saturday, June 28, with off-train options including visiting the Royal Yacht Britannia and a tour of the city’s sights with entry to Edinburgh Castle.
The Lake District trip is on Friday, September 12 with options including a Windermere cruise or a visit to Beatrix Potter’s home.
Options in London for the excursion on Saturday, November 8, include wine-tasting, a West End show and trips on the London Eye or up the Shard skyscraper.
Each excursion includes brunch with bellini on the outward journey and dinner with champagne and wine on the return.
The spokeswoman said: “Few experiences can compare to a journey on the Northern Belle, sister train to the renowned Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.”
Round trips include afternoon tea or a Mad Hatters’ Tea Party on Sunday, September 14, or Christmas lunch on Friday, December 19.
