A group which aims to promote Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield has raised £3,000 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Friends of Doncaster Sheffield Airport held collections at galas and events and at the airport.
It was established in February 2005, following on from the ‘FLY Finningley’ campaign, with the aim of encouraging the airport’s preservation, development and improvement.
Paul Armitage, events co-ordinator said: “All the members have a real enthusiasm for aviation so the Yorkshire Air Ambulance was an obvious choice when we were looking for a charity to fundraise for. We would like to thank all the companies who supported us.”
Yorkshire Air Ambulance needs £9,990 a day to keep two helicopters airborne.
