AESSEAL, the Rotherham-based leading global mechanical seal manufacturer, has been named one of the “1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain” by the London Stock Exchange.

The LSE report highlights the activities of growing and most dynamic small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK and also names Sheffield-based interiors specialist Birley Manufacturing among the most inspiring businesses.

Zavier Rolet, chief executive of the London Stock Exchange Group, said: “The UK has some of the most inspiring growth businesses in the world.

“Our report showcases some of these fast growing and dynamic companies; the type of companies we believe will help fuel the long term growth of the UK economy.”

AESSEAL is the world’s fourth largest manufacturer of mechanical seals and systems.

It has more than 1,600 employees in 230 locations worldwide and supplies customers in industries including oil and gas, pharmaceutical, food, water and mining.

AESSEAL’s success comes not long after it and the South Yorkshire Probation Trust had their achievements recognized at the North of England Excellence Awards.

AESSEAL won a Special Award for Sustainability, while the trust gained a Special Award for Customer Service.

Assessors praised the way that sustainability was embedded in AESSEAL’s culture. Amon other things, all the electricity it uses comes from renewable sources.

The probabtion trust is responsible for managing around 7,000 offenders each year and has achieved one of the highest reductions in reoffending by using feedback from clients to review and improve its own performance.
