Rotherham has been chosen to host a major aerospace and aviation conference.
The conference, organised by the newly-formed Aerospace, Aviation and Defence Knowledge Transfer Network, will look at what drives the development of new technology, the social and economic benefits and how this can provide opportunity for businesses.
The two day event at the Magna Science Park, starting on September 20, will also include the launch of an updated National Aerospace Technology Strategy.
Science and Universities Minister David Willetts will give the keynote address and the conference will be chaired by Sir John O’ Reilly, Vice Chancellor of Cranfield University.
Representatives from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Technology Strategy Board will also be present.
