Apprentices at the new AMRC Training Centre are getting a taste of what life is like in a real production environment.

More than 150 apprentices have started training at the AMRC’s Knowledge Transfer Centre and in part of the Castings Technology International facility while the finishing touches are being put to the Centre itself, which becomes fully operational in January.

In addition to factory-style daily ‘Start Up’ meetings, they are learning basic engineering principles including design drawing, using hand tools and bench fitting, working with advanced training equipment that includes Virtual Reality Welding Machines and building up their employability skills.
