A group of teenagers from McAuley School in Cantley were among the winners at the South Yorkshire Young Enterprise final, where they picked up two prizes.

They received the awards at a presentation evening held at Doncaster Rugby Club’s Castle Park headquarters on Armthorpe Road.

The group, working under the team name of AdAstra, took home the prize for the Best Company Report along with the Financial Administration Award.

Young Enterprise is a contest which challenges school pupils to put together their own companies - running them over the period of the competition to make a profit.

A panel of expert judges then decides on the winners according to a series of key markers and achievements.

Also taking prizes on the evening was Rise Above - a team from Danum School who won the Best Presentation and Leadership Award - and Verus, from Armthorpe School, which was the winner of the best Product or Service Award.

The overall winner was Element 17, from Sheffield High School, who now go through to the regional final in York.
