Sound and vibration-proofing specialist TMAT has invested in new acoustic testing facility.
The Chesterfield firm has invested £25,000 in a new soundproof chamber for its acoustics laboratory.
TMAT – Tailor Made Acoustic Technologies - supplies manufacturers of agricultural, construction and earthmoving equipment, including Case, New Holland Tractors, JCB, and Volvo.
It says the new facility will allow it to compare the materials it develops to reduce noise and vibrations in tractor and excavator cabins more scientifically.
Managing director Jason Lippitt said: “We want to remain at the cutting-edge and ahead of the game in terms of developing soundproofing and vibration reduction solutions for our customers.
“This new lab will allow us to better monitor and further increase the quality of the unique acoustic products we engineer and manufacture with our customers.”
While competitors buy materials off the shelf from the big chemicals companies, all of TMAT’s products are designed by chemists and engineers at its plant on the Holmewood Industrial Park.
