A ROTHERHAM law firm is hosting a free event for headteachers, governors and parents who wish to learn more about the legal aspects of the conversion of a school to Academy status.
Oxley and Coward Solicitors are holding the event at Brinsworth Academy on Sheffield Road, Rotherham, on Thursday, May 24, from 4pm.
It is designed to cover initial questions people may have, also including a discussion of practical topics such as the increasing influence of chains of schools and sponsors, plus the continued use of local authority services.
The meeting aims to help schools get to grips with the legal implications if they decide to go down the Academy route. One school in 10 has now converted.
