A DONCASTER roadside restaurant has undergone a TV-style makeover.
Motorists stopping for a break at the Little Chef on the A1 near Skellow will find it is one of nine more restaurants in the chain to be given a new look following the Channel 4 TV programme Big Chef takes on Little Chef.
The programme saw top chef Heston Blumenthal try to reinvent the roadside restaurant. Bosses say they combined lessons learned from the first concept restaurants with a review of what consumers want from a roadside break.
The restaurants still offer sit down meals, with the same dishes from the original TV concept menu, but have a new takeaway range, from made-to-order sandwiches using a choice of fresh breads to mini foodie pots with a hot meal for one as well as cakes.
