One of South Yorkshire’s most successful female entrepreneurs, award-winning Julie Kenny CBE, readily admitted she had headed to the MADE Festival 2014 to learn more about succeeding in business.
“I attended as many events as I could because there is always more to learn. I picked up valuable tips from Paul McKenna’s lecture on self-advancement and made scores of new contacts from networking,” said Julie, currently celebrating another award.
The chairman and chief executive of Rotherham-based Pyronix won Business Woman of the Year at the Private Business Awards 2014 last week.
“I was thrilled to win, especially being up against pioneering and inspiring women at the forefront of their respective industries,” said Julie, a Sheffield City Region LEP board member, former High Sheriff of South Yorkshire and an Anston mother of three.
Last year her company – which manufactures electronic security equipment – had a turnover of over £16m and exported to 70 countries.
