Women from across South Yorkshire are set to celebrate International Women’s Day with a special event and awards ceremony.
It will feature ‘dynamic and driven’ local female bosses including Marie Cooper, Business Person of the Year 2015 at the Sheffield Business Awards and plant manager of Parker Hannifin, Bridie Warner-Adsetts, chief operating officer at Naylor Industries and Sile Moyo, who, despite still being at school has already spoken at the House of Lords on education.
Jackie Freeborn, chair of the Women in Business Group said: “Make sure March 8 is booked in your diary! This will be a fantastic afternoon celebrating some of the amazing achievements of women in business.
“Also in the line-up are Ann Wilson, managing director of Numill, who was awarded an MBE in the 2015 honours list and Rotherham commissioner Sir Derek Myers.
“These speakers all have wonderful stories to share and will leave guests inspired and empowered.”
The event will also enjoy a carnival experience thanks to Vicky Hilton who is bringing a taste of the Notting Hill Carnival to Rotherham and will hear from local business woman, Lisa Pogson of Airmaster UK, president elect of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber.
“Guests will hear from these driven and dynamic women about the way they run amazing businesses in a wide range of sectors as they fly the flag for Yorkshire,” added Jackie.
The event on March 8 is at Tankersley Manor in Barnsley. For tickets go to www.brchamber.co.uk/events-812
