Nick McKee and his wife Rachael are taking on the challenge of running their own business after buying Meersbrook Park Road-based Air Accessories (Sheffield).
Mr McKee worked for Pneumatic Components in Sheffield for 14 years before seizing the opportunity to become managing director of a company, with backing from Barclays.

Air Accessories employs seven people at offices in Manchester and Penicuik, in Scotland, and designs and manufactures bespoke pneumatic cylinders and associated products to order, in addition to being one of the largest distributors of Bosch pneumatic and fluid power products.

Craig Cartlidge, corporate manager for Barclays Commercial Bank, said: "It's great to see Nick's enthusiasm and dedication for the business and we are delighted to be associated with the next phase of his development plans."

Advisors for the purchase were Chris Sellars and Mark Sims from accountants Hart Shaw and Paul Trudgill from solicitors Keeble Hawson.
